Services
15-MINUTE PHONE
CONSULTATION
FOR THERAPY
If you are having questions prior to starting therapy, whether this is your first time or you are looking for a new therapist, I offer a free, brief 15-minute phone consultation where you can ask about my style, approach as well as what to expect in therapy.
INITIAL
CONSULTATION
In these couple of 45-60 minute intake sessions, I clarify what brings you to therapy and explore your therapy goals. Usually, I will ask you a number of common background and present-day questions. I will also share some of the ways in which I might be able to help. During this time, I also determine we might be a good fit and encourage you to do the same. Having empathy with your therapist and vice-versa are key and fundamental to having a positive experience in therapy.
INDIVIDUAL
THERAPY
These are 45-60 minute sessions scheduled usually on a weekly basis. This cadence allows for building a strong therapeutic relationship, developing or modifying skills as well as building and maintaining momentum towards your goals.
COUPLES
THERAPY
Couples sessions are 60 minutes long and also scheduled on a weekly basis. Their focus is addressing your relationship. During your first session, I will meet with both partners and in the following two appointments, I will meet with each partner one-on-one to better understand both individual perspectives. From the fourth session and onwards, the three of us will continue to meet together.
Insurance and out of Network
Insurance and out of Network
I am an in-network provider with Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield of IL, Evernorth/Cigna and Optum/UnitedHealth Group.
I am an out of network (OON) provider for other insurance companies and although I cannot submit a claim for you and insurance based forms of payment, I am able to provide you with invoices for sessions with a CPT (i.e., type of service) and diagnostic codes. These “superbills” have all the information needed for you to submit your own claim. Some people have “out of network mental health benefits” in their policies. This translates to: even if your therapist is not in our network, you could be eligible for some session fee reimbursement. That depends on specific benefits of your insurance plan so, I strongly encourage you to follow up with ours if you are not sure about your coverage. Usually, you will find a phone number in the back of your insurance card that you can call to clarify this information. Some questions you might want to ask are:
- Do I have “out of network mental health benefits”?
- If yes, what percentage of session fees are covered? How much would that be per session?
- How do I submit claims to receive reimbursement?
- How long does it take to receive a reimbursement check?
- Do I have a deductible or a session limit?
- And is pre-authorization required?
